Contents Page Photographs

 Inside Party
These are the photos that I have used for one of my stories on the group named 'Inside Party'. The left is the original and I have slightly altered the photo in Photoshop to make it suit their genre.I had to select their jackets and make it a new layer so that when I added the two purple and green colour's, they were not altered. The two colour's are used to show that the group is diverse and different from others around at this time, and that the two men in the group have different skills therefore, they are able to bring Drum and Bass and Pop together. This fusion of genres is what the band is being known for and why they are featuring in the magazine, so I thought it was necessary to have these two colour's on the photo. I am extremely happy with this photograph, both pre and post Photoshop, therefore I do not believe I will have to retake this photograph.

Wheel Of The One
Another band to feature on the contents page of my magazine is the indie/pop band, 'Wheel Of The One'. They're a pretty casual, laid back band and I wanted this to be evident by the photographs, so their clothing is not over the top or trying to make a statement. In terms of editing the photo, I had to make the photo not as bright as two of the member's faces were being obscured. To lessen this I lowered the brightness and raised the contrast slightly, which made their faces more visible. I also cropped the photo so that they were central on the photograph as it would have looked out of place on the contents page if they were not central. When it comes to the final copy of my magazine I will retake this photograph and not allow it to be as bright or blurred.

 Anastise

The final artist to feature on my contents page with a photograph is a French Canadian artist, Anastise, who is making a come back after being away from the industry for a short while. I wanted to show that despite her absence she still had the glamour that she used to have and was ready to take the industry  by storm once again. Her clothing is rather glamorous and her hair is done nicely, showing that she cares for her appearance and she wishes to look the best that she can. The facial expression is pretty sharp to show that she is serious about her return and hopes to succeed. The background is a plain wall because I wanted to bring across the fact that she is returning and nothing is getting her way this time (i.e the blank wall). In Photoshop I had to edit the levels of brightness and contrast slightly and a slight bit of clone stamping was used to rid of a gap in her hair next to her neck. Overall, I am very happy with the result of this photograph.
