Front Cover

Here I have made an attempt of drawing my magazines front cover. It is heavily influenced by the magazine NME. Even the title of the magazine is influenced by this. I was originally going to have a mid close up of my music artist taking up the majority of the front cover, thus having all attention on her. The colour scheme would be influenced by one item in the picture, here the heart shaped necklace and lipstick. The red then become a continuing colour for other headings and other certain things.
Since doing this front cover, I have drastically changed my ideas due to different inspirations, and believing myself to have better ideas.
I will once again attempt to draw this new idea, giving a clear idea of how I wish for my front cover to look, from the headings, to colour schemes, to the actual photograph.
Contents Page
Originally I was also basing my contents page on the contents page of NME, but since doing further research of other products, I no longer wish to have it in an image dominated, blocking style. As far as the colour scheme goes, it will be the same as the front cover, so that it obvious that it is from the same magazine. A font that is used on the front cover will also be used on the contents page, to carry on this fluidity of the same magazine. I plan to use a range of artists in my contents page photos, ones that actually exist, so that the magazine has a sense of realism, but my main artist will not be one that already exists.
Double Page Spread
My original Double Page Spread was image dominated, and my plan was to have my artist on a balcony at the Baltic art gallery, looking over the vast bridges of Newcastle. This would represent that my artist is from the North East of England, by showing landmarks from the area. I then decided against this as when it came to try and create space to write my article, I was left with very little, probably less when it came to take the actual photograph. Because my artist is from the North East I will attempt to include the NUFC colours of black and white, and maybe include references to northern specialities such as Newcastle Brown Ale, or something similar. This is to show the uniqueness of my artist and how she is attempting to represent her homeland to the world through music.
